Miss Bennett is the English Coordinator in school and Miss Hallwood is the phonics coordinator.

Our English vision is to foster a love of language and literature through the use of quality texts and books; this inspires, excites and engages our children.

Reading scheme: We have a reading scheme in school which focus texts around the topics.

Writing scheme and SPAG: We follow the pathways to write scheme.

Spelling scheme: We follow the Twinkl Spellings scheme. Spellings are taught within the week and spellings are added to twinklgo as well as a printed copy for children to access. A spelling test is completed weekly.

Moderation: We work with the Leger and rural NYCC schools in moderation and ideas in enhancing English in school. Miss Bennett is a moderator for the LA and supports the LA in making sure judgements are correct. She also supports Leger Trust in this area of work.

We work with the Engligh hub and access a wide range of courses for all teachers in school.
